This practice seems to be chronically overworked and understaffed and there's a very high staff turnover. The reception staff are amenable and try to be helpful. But the background system is extremely badly organised to the point of being chaotic and potentially dangerous. You're unlikely to get any appointment to see a doctor inside five or six weeks. Prescriptions are lost, or not issued when promised. Patients receive misleading phone calls about prescriptions and are sent to collect drugs from local chemists, who are bemused by the lack of information from the surgery, and the overall level of incompetence and lack of organisational structure within the practice.
Have just registered at this practice. Receptionists always helpful and got me into seeing a Dr immediately as had a lump appear in my neck. Put my mind at rest and booked me in for blood test.very efficient
I am a new patient. The earliest appointment I was offered was in 6 weeks time. I am now looking for a different practice as that is not acceptable.
I was advised to ring for triage. I was called back within an hour and offered an appointment the same morning.
I was referred to a consultant with some additional tests.
My consultation was friendly, quick and efficient.
I am impressed by the speed at which my request was handled.
Thank you.
The appointment system is appalling. The first available appointment was over 5 weeks wait. We had to phone the next morning for an emergency appointment which involved a call back form the doctor who prescribed antibiotics and said if they didn't work my daughter would need to come in for an appointment. they didn't work and when we phoned back instead of being given an appointment we had to wait for another triage phone call, which we didn't receive. when I phoned back I was told the doctor did call on the number given, which wasn't the case. We were then told that the doctor might not call back and if they didn't we would have to wait and try again after the Easter holiday and that the walk in centre wouldn't see us because the surgery issued the original prescription. Our only option will be to waste the time of A&E because the surgery refused to provide a suitable GP service
